A Message from Elizabeth Mullins
We have happy and sad news at Southern, as our President, Elizabeth Mullins, has left Southern and her role as president due to a career change. We are sorry to see her go, but happy for her exciting new role! We hope our paths cross again soon.
Per the SIA bylaws, our President-Elect, Brent Cross, has stepped into the role of president.
Elizabeth sent the following note to her SIA friends:
Good Afternoon,
It is with a heavy heart that I must resign from my Role of President of The Southern Innkeepers Association.
30 days ago I resigned from Disney to handle some family health issues. During that time I was able to assess my future and made the decision to move in another direction with my career.
I have always wanted the creativity and freedom of being in the Independent hotel space and have accepted a job as the Managing Director of The Fifth Avenue Hotel which is opening in one of the original Gilded Mansions on 5th Avenue this fall. I will also be taking on the role of COO for Flaneur Hospitality to develop and grow this special brand.
I have enjoyed my six years with SIA - the insights, the laughs, the inspiration and the camaraderie of this organization has touched my heart. I will miss you all and I thank you for the gift of your friendship.
Elizabeth
